May 30, 2019 For the first time, power carts are allowed on the fairways. Par 3's are still cart path only and the hills going down from 1st and 10th tee boxes are cart free zones for safety reasons.

Wintergreen welcomes 8 new junior members joining us this summer. They are Banded Peak students from grades 5, 6 and 7. Thanks to the Allardyce Bower Foundation Junior Golf Scholarship Program these 8 students join the other 17 Calgary area students receiving junior memberships at Wintergreen, Lynx Ridge, Inglewood and The Winston golf courses. A big shout out to the generosity of Brent Allardyce and Rick Bower. Give Brent a "nod" next time you see him at Wintergreen! Keep a lookout for these new juniors and give them a big welcome to Wintergreen, they are the future of golf!

A big thanks goes out to Jimmy Dymianiw for the great presentation on Sunday. Very informative and entertaining afternoon about the new rules for 2019. Close to 40 members took part in the seminar. We all enjoyed the excellent appetizers chef Edward prepared.If you didn't make it you'd better read up on the new way we play golf!

Clay Finkbiner asked me to give a shout out to members interested in participating in the New Business Men's League. I have included Clay's email for interested players to contact. You must be under 55 Years of age. 15 and under Golf Canada Index. Format is two man best ball. Two foursomes play each match. Dates aren’t set in stone but will be as the matches approach. They’ll generally be afternoons always. Anyone interested contact Clay, he will compile and make a roster, then allocate who gets to play and when as fair as he can. Dates are flexible

We thought last year was unfriendly to golfers, 2019 is starting out that way too. Wintergreen will reopen when the snow melts enough for us to find golf balls. Hopefully by next weekend, the 10th of May. Lets hope Mother Nature cooperates and we can all get back to the course! The New Rules Clinic is still going ahead May 5th 2 pm in the dinning room. $10 includes appetizers, please reply if you are attending, non members welcome:) Keep your eye on the web cam:)
